About District

Jamtara district is a new district created by dividing the district of Dumka. It is surrounded by Deoghar district in the north, Dumka and West Bengal in the east, Dhanbad in the south and West Bengal and Giridih in the west. Its total area is 1,811 sq km and the population is 7,91,042 (according to the Census of India, 2011). In this district there is a mandatory Jamtara and six blocks - Kundhit, Nala, Jamtara, Narayanpur, Karmatand and Fatehpur. Climate
